Police found Narcan in the South Carolina apartment where Hayden Panettiere suffered cardiac arrest on Sunday, with the overdose-reversal medication's administration device discovered on a mattress, according to an incident report. The 36-year-old actress was pronounced dead at 14:31 after paramedics performed advanced cardiac life support.
Brian Hickerson, Panettiere's on-and-off partner since 2018, and his brother were present when a concerned acquaintance called 911 at 13:51 to report an unresponsive woman. Hickerson, who has prior domestic violence convictions, had flown with Panettiere from Los Angeles the day before. Officers reported no signs of trauma or foul play.
An autopsy was completed Monday, though final results remain pending. Panettiere's mother Lesley Vogel, estranged from her daughter, broke her silence Wednesday. Panettiere, who detailed struggles with addiction and postpartum depression in her recent memoir, is survived by her 11-year-old daughter Kaya, in the care of ex-partner Wladimir Klitschko.
