Conor McGregor makes his long-awaited return to the octagon at UFC 329 in Las Vegas, facing Max Holloway in a welterweight rematch after a five-year absence from competition. The 37-year-old Irishman has not fought since suffering a broken leg during his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. A previously planned comeback at UFC 303 two years ago was scrapped after McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury.
The pair first met as featherweights in August 2013, with McGregor winning by decision, but Sunday's bout takes place at welterweight. Holloway enters the contest having lost the ceremonial BMF title to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March.
Former champion Jose Aldo, who has faced both fighters, considers Holloway the favourite due to his recent activity but believes McGregor retains knockout power. The main card at T-Mobile Arena is expected to begin at 02:00 BST, with the headline fight anticipated around 04:30 BST. Britons Paddy Pimblett, Lone'er Kavanagh and Luke Riley also feature on the card.
