Malaysia will stage a rescheduled Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on 4 October at the Sepang International Circuit, replacing the race that was cancelled in April due to the wider Middle East conflict.
The original event in Sakhir was one of two Gulf races called off alongside Saudi Arabia after the war between the United States and Iran disrupted the calendar. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia is ready to welcome Formula 1 back to Sepang this year, following discussions he held with Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali.
Sepang previously featured on the F1 calendar between 1999 and 2017, making the October race its first grand prix in nine years.
