Lord's stages first women's Test as England host India

Lord's Cricket Ground will host its first-ever women's Test match when England face India in a four-day contest starting July 10, 2026 — arriving 142 years after the venue's inaugural men's Test. Over 30,000 tickets have been sold, marking the highest attendance for a women's Test in the UK.

The match carries added significance as Tammy Beaumont plays her final international appearance, having announced her retirement on July 8. Beaumont leaves as England's leading ODI centurion with 12 hundreds and the author of a Test double-century during the 2023 Ashes. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt hopes to feature despite a calf injury.

England seek redemption after their most recent Test ended in defeat to Australia at the MCG earlier in 2026. India present a formidable challenge, unbeaten in nine previous women's Tests in England and winners of the sides' last encounter by 347 runs in December 2023.
