Lazio have signed central defender Danilho Doekhi to a three-year contract running through the end of the 2028/2029 season, the club confirmed on Tuesday after the Dutchman arrived in Rome on a flight from Rotterdam.
Doekhi joins as a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Union Berlin, where he made 137 competitive appearances and scored 16 goals after joining from Vitesse in 2022. The German club parted ways with him in May when he declined to renew.
The arrival offsets a significant defensive departure: Mario Gila has left Lazio for AC Milan in a deal completed this summer. Doekhi, who adds three assists to his Union record, is expected to slot directly into Lazio's backline for the coming campaign.
