Israel and Lebanon to hold new round of talks in Rome on implementing framework agreement

Israel and Lebanon will meet in Rome from 4 to 6 August for a new round of talks aimed at advancing full implementation of their framework agreement, the United States Department of State announced on Tuesday.

A State Department official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said technical working groups would focus on expanding pilot zones in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese army has continued its deployment in the town of Zoutar al-Gharbiya, established last week as the first pilot area alongside Frun and Srifa.

The framework agreement was signed in June 2026, and the upcoming Rome discussions seek to push its complete implementation forward.
