South Korea's Haeran Ryu shot an 11-under-par 60 at the Evian Championship on Friday, setting the lowest round in LPGA major history and taking a commanding three-shot lead heading into the final round.
Ryu, who won her first major at the Women's PGA Championship last month, reached 19 under par at the Évian-les-Bains course on Lake Geneva, three strokes clear of Japan's Aki Iwai. The 60 broke the previous major record of 61 held by Hyo Joo Kim, Jeong-eun Lee6, and Leona Maguire. Overnight leader Lottie Woad carded a one-over 72 to fall nine shots back. In a separate development, world number one Nelly Korda missed the cut on Friday.
Czech Republic's Sára Kousková shared 47th place at two under par after a one-over 72, having made the cut at a major for the first time. She could surpass the best Czech major finish — Klára Davidson Spilková's 50th place at the 2018 British Open — in Sunday's final round.
