Gradiant has completed its work on water infrastructure for a major new semiconductor fabrication plant in Dresden, delivering the scope three months ahead of schedule.
The roughly €5 billion facility doubles the customer's manufacturing output at the Dresden site and is expected to generate around 1,000 skilled positions. Public contributions of about €1 billion, channeled through the European Chips Act and the IPCEI framework, back the expansion. Gradiant installed ultrapure water production and recovery systems that draw on industrial water rather than potable supplies. The operator aims to recycle up to 45 percent of its water by 2033, a target that reflects mounting pressure on chipmakers to reduce freshwater consumption as fabrication plants scale up across Europe.
