Germany's Dax index surged past 26,000 points for the first time on Monday, reaching an intraday high of 26,005.10 — up 1.47% — after European equities hit record levels last week on strong tech earnings.
The rally extended gains that had lifted the index to a closing record of 25,912.59 points, up 1.11%, as U.S. President Donald Trump announced new talks with Iran over the weekend and called off a major strike. Oil prices fell sharply at the start of the week, easing pressure after Brent crude had briefly topped $100 a barrel in recent weeks.
The Dax has rebounded from a mid-July dip to around 24,650 points following heightened U.S.-Iran tensions. JPMorgan strategist Mislav Matejka cited the strong earnings season as a key driver, with Microsoft and Amazon delivering convincing quarterly reports.
