German comedian Torsten Sträter has disclosed a diabetes diagnosis alongside his ongoing recovery from a tumor, describing his health as improving and saying he has never felt better. In a conversation with fellow comedian Felix Lobrecht, Sträter called the past six months "certainly the most amusing" of his life despite the medical challenges.
Sträter canceled performances at the start of 2026 before going public with his cancer diagnosis in mid-April. He explained that he disclosed the illness so ticket-holding fans would not assume he was skipping shows over something trivial. After undergoing chemotherapy, he returned to the stage in May. Lobrecht praised his recovery, saying Sträter had "defeated cancer for now."
