Four people, including a baby girl, were killed on Saturday night when a red Hyundai carrying five occupants left the A38 near Derby and collided with trees at around 23:00 BST.
Two women, aged 18 and 30, and a man aged 36 died at the scene, emergency services said. The infant was taken to hospital, where she later died. All five occupants were from Leeds in West Yorkshire.
Police arrested the driver, a 33-year-old man, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The crash prompted a significant emergency response on the A38, a major arterial route through the English Midlands.
