Ford Pro is rolling out its AI-powered fleet management platform to European customers, following the system's earlier debut in the United States.
The digital assistant analyses data streamed from factory-fitted vehicle modems and converts it into actionable recommendations for fleet managers, aiming to cut the heavy administrative burden that unplanned downtime imposes. A survey of 200 fleet managers in the United Kingdom and Germany found that each unexpected vehicle stoppage generates an average of 2.4 hours of extra paperwork, rising to 2.7 hours at medium and large fleets. Routine vehicle-related administration typically consumes between 5% and 10% of working time, or 15 to 20 hours a month.
Sixty percent of respondents said analysing total cost of ownership is already part of their daily workload, underlining the demand for automated tools. The European launch extends the platform's reach as Ford seeks to position the service as a core offering for commercial operators.
