FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics have signed a commercial agreement to combine their positioning technologies, aiming to improve satellite navigation reliability for vehicles operating in challenging environments such as urban canyons and tree-lined roads.
The partnership integrates FocalPoint's S-GNSS Auto software with STMicroelectronics' Teseo hardware, delivering the joint solution as a firmware upgrade for existing Teseo devices. The collaboration addresses a persistent challenge in automotive navigation, where tall buildings and dense foliage can degrade conventional GNSS signals.
FocalPoint, headquartered in Cambridge, England, develops positioning software designed to enhance satellite navigation accuracy. The agreement marks a significant expansion of STMicroelectronics' automotive positioning capabilities through third-party software integration.
