Director Denis Villeneuve and star Timothée Chalamet unveiled the latest trailer for Dune: Part Three at a fan event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, offering a first extended look at the concluding chapter of the sci-fi saga.
Adapted from Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, the film is set 17 years after its predecessor and charts Paul Atreides' ascent as galactic emperor, with footage suggesting a leader corrupted by power. Villeneuve, who described the film as "a very different beast" with a changed rhythm, had originally intended to wait years before making a third instalment but was drawn back by persistent creative visions. Chalamet, who referenced Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy at the event, said he felt nostalgic during filming.
The IMAX Q&A was live-streamed to cinemas in London, Toronto, and Berlin. Dune: Part Three opens on 18 December 2026, following the first two instalments released in 2021 and 2024.
