Referee Mathilde Demoncay suffered a concussion after being knocked to the ground while breaking up a melee during a friendly between FC Metz and Fortuna Sittard at Schlossberg Stadium in Forbach, France, on Saturday.

The incident occurred around the 40th minute when a shirt-tugging confrontation between Metz defender Jessy Deminguet and Fortuna's Lequincio Zeefuik escalated into a melee. Demoncay, 26, fell heavily while intervening and remained on the pitch for several minutes holding her arm before receiving medical attention. An assistant referee took over the match, and Demoncay resumed as an assistant before leaving at half-time.

Metz won the match 3-1, with Justin Hubner scoring Fortuna's only goal. Fortuna Sittard open their Eredivisie season away against PSV on 8 August.
