U.S. fighter jets intercepted two civilian aircraft that breached restricted airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday, as President Donald Trump was staying at his golf club there for the weekend.
NORAD scrambled F-16s after the planes entered a temporary flight restriction zone established around the Trump National Golf Club. The jets escorted the aircraft safely out of the prohibited airspace. The U.S. military did not disclose how many fighter jets took part in the operation. Video circulating on social media appeared to show a military jet approaching a small aircraft, believed to be a Cessna.
Temporary flight restrictions are routinely imposed over locations where the president is present to prevent unauthorized aircraft from approaching.
