Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from a WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever on Saturday after attending the match at Wintrust Arena wearing a black shirt that read "WOMAN. Noun. Adult human female."
Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud confronted Kanter Freedom late in the third quarter over the shirt. He was escorted from the arena and spoke with police before leaving. Cloud later posted a statement on social media supporting transgender people. Kanter Freedom had joined a rally outside the arena before the game in support of Sophie Cunningham.
Kanter Freedom, who recently declared himself eligible for the WNBA draft while identifying as a woman, posted on social media during the game that he needed to use the restroom at halftime. The Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 113-90.
