Elton John has marked 36 years of sobriety, a milestone the 79-year-old musician commemorated by sharing an Instagram post featuring his 1983 hit "I'm Still Standing". John, who has been sober since 1990, received birthday messages of support from Diplo, Jake Shears and Nicola Peltz.
The celebrations follow a business venture launched earlier this year. In January 2026, John and his husband David Furnish introduced Elton John Zero, a 0% alcohol Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine.
John is also preparing to return to the stage in Latin America, with two concerts scheduled at Mexico City's Banorte Stadium on October 2 and 3.
