ELN drone attack wounds three at Colombian airport

Jul 10 · Conflict COL

An explosive-laden drone attack on the Tibú airport in northeastern Colombia left three workers wounded and damaged airport infrastructure on Thursday, the Colombian army said.

The military attributed the strike to the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla group, which has long operated in the region. All three injuries were caused by the blast's shockwave, authorities confirmed.

The attack comes as President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella has given all criminals in the country a one-month deadline to surrender, warning of massive bombing campaigns against drug cartels beginning with his inauguration on 7 August.
