Nearly 100 people have been killed in clashes across Pakistan's Balochistan province over the past four days, as a wave of coordinated militant assaults targeted security forces and civilians alike.
The bloodshed includes an attack on Tuesday in which at least nine police officers were killed at a dam project post, with 15 assailants later killed in clearance operations. Separately, 11 soldiers died when an army convoy was ambushed near Bela on Wednesday. Earlier incidents saw militants open fire on civilians near Quetta, killing four, and a banned group struck a police post in Ziarat. Pakistan's military says 42 security personnel and 54 militants were killed in total during the four-day period, with counter-operations still underway.
The Balochistan government blamed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan without providing evidence, while the military's media wing accused India and its proxy groups of orchestrating the violence.
