Supplier Delika Food Group has issued a recall of Carl Vollstedt Guld Sardel sausages sold at Fleggaard border shops in Denmark after metal fragments were discovered in the 900-gram product.
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration considers consumption of the affected sausages a potential health risk. The recall covers batches with a best-before date of 23 August 2026 and batch number 33386.
Customers who purchased the product are advised to discard the sausages or return them to any Fleggaard store for a refund. Border shops along the Danish-German frontier are a popular destination for Scandinavian shoppers seeking lower-priced goods.
