Denmark's Consumer Ombudsman has filed a second police complaint against electricity supplier Enly A/S, alleging the company made unsolicited sales calls and misled consumers in breach of marketing and consumer contract laws.
The complaint covers 47 calls made without valid consent and 41 instances of misleading information between July 2024 and September 2025. Telemarketers reportedly posed as representatives of customers' existing power providers, supplying false information about savings and regulations. Enly, formerly known as Grøn Elforsyning, had purchased consents from partners that the ombudsman deemed insufficient under the law. Consumer Ombudsman Torben Jensen said the office views the repeated violations seriously.
Enly accepted a 700,000 kroner fine for similar offences in February 2025 and says it has since tightened internal controls. Chief executive Helal Jan rejected the latest allegations, saying the company wants the case tried in court.
