A 73-year-old Czech woman died on Saturday after falling on a marked trail in Slovakia's Malá Fatra mountain range, suffering injuries incompatible with life.
The hiker slipped beneath the Sokolie ridge near the village of Terchová, close to Žilina, and tumbled down rocky, forested terrain. She was part of a group following a marked path toward a mountain hut when the accident occurred.
Rescuers transported her body by stretcher to Vrátná and then transferred it to the Mountain Rescue Service house in Štefanová.
