Jaroslav Zvěřina, a prominent Czech psychiatrist, sexologist and former politician, died on July 19, 2026 at the age of 83.
His death was announced by Libor Zámečník, a urolog and head of the Institute of Sexology, who posted a condolence on Facebook on behalf of the committee of the Sexological Society of the Czech Medical Association of Jan Evangelista Purkyně. The society also confirmed the news on its Facebook page.
Zvěřina built a decades-long career at the intersection of medicine and public life, becoming one of the Czech Republic's most widely recognised figures in sexology and psychiatry.
