Czech court clears extradition of convicted German far-right extremist

A Prague high court has rejected appeals against the extradition of Marla Svenja Liebich, clearing the way for Czech authorities to hand the convicted German far-right extremist over to Germany.

Liebich, 55, was sentenced in July 2023 by a Halle district court to 18 months in prison without probation for incitement to hatred, defamation, and insult. She was arrested in April 2026 in the Czech town of Krásná near Aš on a European arrest warrant, ending a period on the run. Liebich changed her name and gender on official documents in late 2024.

The Prague court's final ruling means the extradition can now proceed, and Liebich is expected to serve her sentence in Germany.
