The Czech Republic's banking sector would remain well capitalised even under a sharp economic deterioration, according to stress-test results released by the Czech National Bank.
The capital adequacy ratio of the tested segment stood at 20.7 percent on a consolidated basis at the end of 2025. Under an adverse scenario spanning 2026 to 2028, the ratio would decline to 18.4 percent, still comfortably above regulatory minimums.
The central bank included 13 domestic lenders in this year's exercise, representing roughly 92 percent of total banking-sector assets in the country. The supervisory stress test follows methodology developed by the European Banking Authority. The Czech National Bank has conducted supervisory stress tests since 2009 and macroeconomic stress tests since 2004.
