A consumer rights investigation has uncovered 150 potentially lethal infant products sold across major UK online marketplaces, including items linked to choking and suffocation risks, Which? reported Wednesday.

The watchdog identified 54 self-feeding devices, 37 sleep pillows marketed for newborns, and 59 baby sleeping bags with suffocation hazards across platforms including Alibaba, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, OnBuy, TikTok Shop and Wish. Nearly a quarter of the dangerous listings were found on Amazon, while 38 of the concerning sleeping bags were listed on Etsy. The UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards had previously issued warnings about self-feeding devices in 2022 and baby sleep pillows in December 2025.

Which? head of policy Sue Davies urged the government to use powers under the Product Regulation and Metrology Act, which came into force in July 2025, to crack down on unsafe listings.
