Christian Eriksen will undertake an individual rehabilitation programme in his native Denmark following his collapse during a 7 June international fixture against Ukraine, his club VfL Wolfsburg said.
The 34-year-old midfielder has yet to return to Wolfsburg and missed the squad's first training session last weekend after being granted an indefinite leave of absence. The decision to rehabilitate in Denmark was reached in consultation with sporting director Dieter Hecking. Heart specialist Henning Mølgaard has urged Eriksen to end his playing career, warning that another on-pitch collapse is inevitable if he continues.
Eriksen, who joined second-division Wolfsburg in September 2025, remains under contract with the German club through 2027.
