The cancer of 15-year-old Delani Diekmeier has continued to progress as her lung metastases grow and multiply. Her mother, Dana Diekmeier, shared in June 2026 that the spread of the disease "is not to be stopped," and medical experts currently report very few effective treatment options remaining.
Delani's illness began in January 2025 when she was diagnosed with a rare malignant tumor of the adrenal cortex, which was surgically removed before spreading to both lungs. Following multiple chemotherapies and surgeries, she participated in an experimental nuclearmedical therapy at the University Hospital of Wuerzburg in late 2025, which initially stabilized the metastases in early 2026.
While her most recent immunotherapy has been terminated, Delani is currently reported to feel well and remain physically fit. She continues to travel to Frankfurt every one to two weeks for check-ups and blood work.
