Brian Hickerson has broken his silence following the death of his partner, actress Hayden Panettiere, who was found lifeless at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday at the age of 36. Hickerson's attorney Sloan Ellis issued an official statement on his behalf, while police confirmed there were no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Hickerson contacted authorities and presented a bag containing Panettiere's medications. Panettiere's mother, Lesley Vogel, has made allegations against Hickerson, who had previously been accused by the actress of abusive behaviour. Panettiere's former partner Wladimir Klitschko said his family was going through a time of profound shock and grief.
The actress, who earned two Golden Globe nominations for her role in Nashville, published a memoir in May detailing struggles with alcohol addiction and postpartum depression. Skincare brand Neutrogena acknowledged on Thursday it had not adequately supported the star.
