Bill Kaulitz reveals anti-queer assaults from youth ahead of new Netflix series

· Entertainment DEU

Bill Kaulitz has spoken publicly about anti-queer assaults he endured during his youth in the Magdeburg region of Saxony-Anhalt, describing incidents that included having his trousers pulled down and being groped at a swimming pool.

The 36-year-old Tokio Hotel frontman characterised the twins' childhood as "rough," marked by fear, hatred and violence. The revelations appear in the third season of "Kaulitz & Kaulitz," which begins streaming on Netflix on July 23. The series follows Bill and his twin brother Tom Kaulitz as they return to their hometown for a school reunion.

Tom Kaulitz, who married Heidi Klum in 2019, appears alongside his brother throughout the documentary series, which also features Bill in minimal swimwear during pool scenes.
