Barcelona defeated Egypt's Al Ahly 2-1 on Wednesday to claim the 61st edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy, closing out their preseason before 54,224 spectators at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Hamza Abdelkarim opened the scoring in the 30th minute, and Raphinha doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime. Al Ahly's Zizo pulled one back in the 51st minute, but Barcelona held on despite Anthony Gordon missing a stoppage-time penalty. New signing Rodri was presented to the crowd but did not play, while João Cancelo also watched from the stands as his transfer paperwork remained incomplete.

The event doubled as Barcelona's 2026-27 squad presentation, where head coach Hansi Flick delivered an emotional speech thanking fans for their support following his father's death. Barcelona now open their competitive season against Elche at the Martínez Valero on Sunday.
