Artist sells trash from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding for $25 per item

A New York artist has sold out of encapsulated debris collected outside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, monetizing the detritus left behind by thousands of fans who gathered without invitations.

Justin Gignac collected refuse from around Madison Square Garden, where the couple married on July 3, and listed the items online as a "Not Invited Edition" of his "NYC Pocket Garbage" series. Each capsule priced at $25 plus shipping contained an assortment of discarded items including cigarette butts, bottle caps, an AirPod, an ovulation test kit, and police caution tape. Gignac sold 50 pieces for a total of $1,250 and the collection has since sold out.

The sale is the latest in a two-decade project by Gignac, who has sold more than 1,300 cubes of New York street refuse to buyers in more than 30 countries since 2001. The wedding itself drew roughly a thousand guests, with attendees reportedly including Adam Sandler, Paul McCartney, and Brad Pitt.
